Tech Lead Full Stack
Be the connective tissue between product and engineering: stay close to the team's day-to-day, unblock delivery, negotiate scope side by side with the PM, and make sure a small, senior team ships business impact with technical quality — all without stepping away from code.
What you'll do
Keep the cycle predictable. Refinement, breaking down deliverables, and technical prioritization happen together with the PM. Large deliverables become slices that validate the hypothesis faster.
Never let anyone stay blocked for more than a day. You spot a blocker before it becomes a delay and clear it — pairing, redesigning, renegotiating scope, or making the call yourself.
Turn scope negotiation into a team habit. "What we cut, what we don't cut." Deliver value early, earn the business's trust, and use that trust to negotiate the next round better. Product-vs-tech friction becomes a trade-off conversation, not a tug-of-war.
Own the system design ritual. Every new project goes through a doc, async feedback, and a decision call. You keep the ritual alive, give the sharpest feedback, and make the call when there's a deadlock.
Keep shipping production code. Your own project or pairing on the critical fronts. Most of the day is hands-on — leadership happens through the work, not instead of it.
Grow the team technically: code reviews that teach, pairing aimed at growth (not just unblocking), and structure that helps new hires ramp up faster.
Your technical decisions apply to the whole team: standards, contracts between projects, the cycle's technical priorities, what enters and leaves scope alongside the PM. Anything that affects another stream, structural infra cost, or product direction gets aligned with leadership before you close it. Any technical or scope deadlock blocking delivery inside the team is yours to own — you step in and decide.
Requirements
Required:
Proven backend depth: Python (FastAPI) and/or Node.js/TypeScript (NestJS), command of concurrency, throughput, and cost trade-offs. Able to take the hardest project of the cycle and deliver it.
Architecture in service of product speed: domain modeling (DDD), anti-corruption layer for vendors, judgment on modular monolith vs. microservices. Structure that lets the team launch new products fast without reinventing the wheel every time.
Distributed systems and integrations: idempotency, queues, near real-time async processing, transactional vs. analytical consistency, critical integrations (vendors, B2B customer data).
Cloud, observability, and CI/CD at the design level: GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run) and/or AWS, Terraform, OpenTelemetry. A testing and deploy structure that gives the whole team confidence to ship fast.
Applied AI with governance: agent orchestration, RAG, evals. Deciding what AI gets to decide on its own and what requires human judgment within the team's scope.
Technical facilitation and translation: running design reviews and refinement sessions that end in a decision; translating technical work for Product/Sales/C-level and business needs for engineering; scoping and breaking down deliverables with the PM as routine, not as an event.
Advanced English: we're preparing for international expansion, and English will be required soon.
Nice to have: fine-tuning and LoRA (the direction we're heading) · a track record as a hands-on lead or principal engineer without a formal management title · having built the case for an unpopular technical decision all the way to approval at a higher level · a clear point of view in favor of a small, senior team during a fast-growth phase · early-stage startup or similar environment experience · affinity for artificial intelligence
